On Monday, April 8, 2024 there will be a solar eclipse. MCS will implement a remote learning day for Monday, April 8.

All grade level teachers will send home assignments prior to spring break. Students will be responsible for completing the assignments on Monday, April 8 and return to school Tuesday, April 9, 2024 with the completed assignments.

MCS would like to remind you to use safe viewing practices during the eclipse:

Looking directly at the Sun is unsafe except during the brief total phase ("totality"), when the Moon entirely blocks the Sun’s bright face, which happens only within the narrow path of totality. At all other times, it is safe to look directly at the Sun only through special-purpose solar filters that comply with the transmittance requirements of the ISO 12312-2 international standard.”
